Barcelona
GetafeBarcelona host Getafe at Camp Nou in Round 8 of LaLiga, with the home side aiming to maintain a flawless start to the campaign. The hosts sit top of the table with seven wins from seven matches, accumulating 21 points and scoring 31 goals. Getafe arrive in 11th place, seeking to disrupt a team in relentless form.
Barcelona's flawless start continues
The home side's recent run features emphatic victories over Valencia and Sevilla, highlighting an attack firing on all cylinders. Lamine Yamal and Pedri have been standout performers during this prolific spell. In contrast, Getafe have managed just two wins in their opening seven fixtures, scoring a modest four goals. Their most recent outing was a narrow 1-0 home victory over Malaga, but inconsistency has largely defined their campaign.
Injury concerns for both sides
Despite their dominant form, Barcelona will be without key attacking threat Raphinha due to a muscle injury, alongside midfielder Frenkie de Jong and defender Andreas Christensen. Getafe’s own injury list is extensive, with forward Martin Satriano and Juanmi both sidelined by knee problems, while Kiko Femenia remains out with a hamstring issue.
Historical dominance for the hosts
Recent history offers little comfort for the visitors. Barcelona have won six of the last ten meetings between the two clubs, with the remaining four ending in draws. Getafe have failed to secure a victory in this fixture during that span, managing just two goals across those ten encounters.
